Happy 35^th anniversary, Millie and Lloyd!!!

Jason (from Nevis) is a really great guy! He has been working for Lloyd on the hydroponic lettuce farm for four years. He drove us to the ferry, but not before chatting with us about each others family and what we thought of the pace of life in St. Kitts and Nevis. St. Kitts is way too busy and crazy for him. He grew up in Nevis where life is much more peaceful.

Can you believe it?! It's snowing in St. Kitts and Nevis! No, wait. That's my dandruff. I need to get some Head and Shoulders, but that stuff is expensive here. Gotta shop around. A lot of things are more expensive here than in the States.

We saw Becky at the roti restaurant. She's back from visiting her family for a while. She brought back candy for us!

Jason (from St. Kitts) visited the Center. We discussed various verses and prophecies. The largest barrier at the moment is that he is very fixed on God having only one name (Yahweh) and that any other reference to Him is blaspheme. I can understand Mona's frustration when people blindly disregard and disrespect her beliefs. I had to catch myself a few times from getting angry at Yahzon's (his preferred Hebrewfied spelling, which I'll adopt to prevent confusion with Jason from Nevis) comments about the Bahá'í­ Faith.

Bible Study was very interesting today. Jane used a fun skit to tell the story of Jesus visiting Mary and Martha. The study (more like a sermon this time) began with Revelation 4, which discusses the Báb's dispensation, directed by Bahá'u'lláh who is encircled by twenty-four elders, which include the eighteen letters of the living – or so I've been told. The same guest speaker from last week then transitioned to explaining the three parts of worship: approaching God, listening for / reading about / meditating on God's guidance, and responding through action. It was interesting that this Methodist minister used the example of Catholics crossing themselves as they pass the threshold of their church as a positive way to show respect. It was refreshing to hear an attitude friendly towards practices of another belief system after hearing the discriminating words of Yahzon earlier.

At the end Cristina bravely announced to the whole group that everyone was invited to the Birth of Bahá'u'lláh celebration. It's what Darlene recommended that we do. Can you believe that everyone at this Christian Bible study wanted an invitation?! Some people took two! Bahá'u'lláh doesn't mess around.

Tonight is the first night of my year of service that I am spending alone.
