Somebody's Been Prayin'.

I don't know who, where, or when, but someone or many people's prayers must have reached a quota and they were all answered today. So thanks are in order for them or "the Confirmer of whomsoever [He willeth] in that which [He desireth]" (or a combination thereof)!

Another successful children's class: All three classes are showing great progress. My class is enjoying learning new words that the Oxford-educated Shoghi Effendi riddles Advent of Divine Justice with, as well as the importance of tests and difficulties within and without the Bahá'í community. I am continually amazed by what these children and youth know and how they act and by their huge capacity.

Towards the end of the classes, LD impulsively walked out the gate of the Center to meet Robert, a man who just avoided death by car and has been meaning to ask about the Faith for a while, out of the blue. Rebecca, her friend Rubin (a second year medical student at Windsor), and Rosemary (a local Bahá'í I haven't previously met) visited after classes. The visit turned into everyone drinking tea – a good pasttime that doesn't happen much here. Rubin is a conscientious Christian of Catholic and Hindu origins. He has an open mind (and soul) that is searching to reconcile the common thread of the religions and will "definitely be back." When Rosemary's son Cohan picked her up, we made informal plans to go visit him.

In the evening Halva took us to Kittitian Super Star (≈ American Idol) at Basseterre High School. The girl who won (laptop and American Airline flight) is Karence from the class we teach virtues to at St. Theresa's Convent School. There were six or so songs sung that are ambiguous in that you can't tell if the love expressed is for a man or the Man Upstairs. It seems that most were intended for the later. Many of the performers had very positive messages. This woman, eliminated from the competition in the previous round, composed a song about believing in yourself. This group rapped, "Reach for the stars. Keep your head to the sky."

Back at the Center I put up a good fight in Chinese checkers against Halva. Before he left, I offered him a study circle invitation. He wants to share it with his freinds that "need it." How can so many great and exciting things happen in one day?
